What's the difference between the Immerse, Converse and Atmosphere earplugs?
The Immerse earplugs are made from 100% medical-grade, antibacterial soft-touch silicone. They offer the most powerful noise reduction in our range at 24 dB (SNR). Ideal for blocking out external distraction, whether that is for sleeping, deep focus or for travelling.
The Converse earplugs are made from hypoallergenic ABS plastic with medical-grade, antibacterial soft-touch silicone eartips. They are designed with our Conical Sound Canal™ and Ambient Noise Filter™ and offer a 17dB (SNR) noise reduction off those high frequency daily noises whilst keeping you present. For connected conversations, parenting, and those sensitive to noise.
The Atmosphere earplugs are made from hypoallergenic ABS plastic with medical-grade, antibacterial soft-touch silicone eartips. They are designed with our Conical Sound Canal™ and High-Fidelity Filter™ and offer 20 dB (SNR) noise reduction while preserving music quality. Perfect for festivals, concerts, & live sports.
Have I inserted my Flow earplugs correctly?
To ensure proper insertion and maximise comfort, follow these steps:
- Hold the base of the Flow earplug between your thumb and index finger.
- Gently insert the ear tip into your ear canal.
- Twist the earplug slightly towards the back of your ear until it sits snugly (approximately at a 90 degree angle), it should form a comfortable seal.
- Feel free to adjust the base for comfort and help ensure they remain discreet from the front.
If they feel loose or fall out, try a larger size. If they’re too tight or stick out, try a smaller size. To check the fit, move your jaw from side to side; if they stay in place, they’re inserted correctly.
Which ear tip size is best for me?
When you first receive your Flow earplugs it's a good idea to try on each size (XS, S, M, L) so you can feel the differences and to find your perfect fit.
To find the best ear tips for you, follow these four easy steps:
- Start with the pre-installed medium (“M”) ear tips and test them out.
- To change sizes, gently pull off the current silicone ear tip from the earplug base.
- Choose a new size, hold it between your thumb and index finger, and line it up with the earplug's stem.
- Gently push and twist until it fits snugly. If it's proving tricky, just flip it inside out, push it onto the earplug, and then fold it back into place.
- Insert them in your ears to see how they feel.
If they feel loose or fall out, try a larger size. If they’re too tight or stick out, try a smaller size. To check the fit, move your jaw from side to side; if they stay in place, they’re inserted correctly.
P.S. You might need different sizes for each ear, so be sure to check both!
What certifications do the Flow earplugs have?
All Flow earplugs come with a Declaration of Conformity and comply with relevant PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) regulations worldwide. They’ve been rigorously tested by leading independent third-party authorities and are officially certified as hearing protection.
Our earplugs meet the following standards:
- EN 352-2:2020 (EU certification)
- ANSI S3.19-1974 (US certification)
- ASTM D6499 (Antigenic latex testing)
- ISO 22196 (Antibacterial testing)
They also all hold both US and EU Declarations of Conformity.
How do I clean my earplugs?
For Flow Immerse earplugs, made from 100% silicone, cleaning is easy. You can rinse them in warm water with a skin-friendly detergent or wipe them down with a damp cloth. For a deeper clean, detach the ear tips and wash them separately.
For models featuring our Conical Sound Canal™ (like Converse and Atmosphere), avoid submerging them in water as this can damage the internal components. Instead, remove the silicone ear tips and clean them in water separately. Wipe the base of the earplugs with a damp cloth.
To maintain freshness, we recommend replacing your ear tips every 3-6 months. Replacement multipacks are available on our website.
